Arc Smart Sim

ARC SmartSim is a hardware radio channel simulator.

It provides full benefit of real-time simulations by the means of state-of-the-art DSP boards, performing up to 10 GIPS. You can easily do sophisticated testing with the highest degree of accuracy and control, e.g. testing chipsets in mobile phones or other with realistic models.

ARC SmartSim is designed for MIMO systems.

It offers up to eight independent channels with virtual scattering. This simulator is a powerful tool when it comes to testing beamforming algorithms for smart antennas, antenna arrays or even sophisticated investigations in a laboratory environment. All current mobile standards are supported, such as GSM, EDGE, UMTS and WLAN.

ARC SmartSim is vital in channel testing.

Suitable for repeating simulations with similar scenarios, it brings well defined field tests onto your desktop. It implements a channel model based on COST 259, and depicts a real-time GSCM. There is no comparable model currently available on the market.

ARC SmartSim has a intuitive and user-friendly GUI.

A wide functional range and different possibilities to display data can be controlled through the user interface. Impulse responses can be plotted in 3D at any desired instant during the simulation.

The ARC SmartSim wideband channel simulator improves your efficiency. This testing instrument provides a RF-channel environment with programmable impairments. Thus, you can individually define your channel prototype on your workbench. This enables flexible application of improvements and testing your system already at early stages.

 

Hence, ARC SmartSim provides the most convenient way to evaluate the performance of your system. It supports you to tune and optimise your parameters with minimal efforts.

ARC SmartSim allows you to create a replica of the RF-channel on your desktop, replacing costly field tests. A built-in powerful GUI allows simple variation of different parameters, e.g. increasing the transmitter power, reducing the specified operating distance, using a more directional antenna, or using multiple diversity antennas.

 

These settings influence the data rate or channel bandwidth of the RF llink and are therefore decisive to gain a better performance.

The integrated movement model allows a freely defineable motion of the mobile station. Further on, in your environment factors of attenuation, noise, and magnitude can be applied in wide variability.
